EXHIBITION AT ARTISTS’ MARKET - MAY 2 – DECEMBER 24, 2009

Beautiful artworks that can fit in the palm of your hand are on exhibit at Artists’ Market beginning May 2nd.  Handmade prints by Natalija Cernetsova of Latvia are showcased together with vintage woodcuts by M. C. Escher, mezzotints by Carol Wax, and many other extraordinary artworks. These prints share a love of detail and a fascination with fantasy, and each is a gem of printmaking enhanced by the exceptional picture framing of this unique Norwalk gallery.

Gallerist Jeffrey Price explains, “Small things are much appreciated these days, and this exhibit gives people a chance to not only see beautifully crafted handmade miniature prints, but to also acquire fantastic artwork at small prices. It’s amazing how much detail and emotion can fit into a tiny print, and seeing these gems is like slipping into tiny worlds filled with beauty and mystery. M. C. Escher’s original small prints are really museum-pieces, and Carol Wax from New York literally wrote the book on the rare craft of mezzotint printmaking.

Stella dei Natale - Natalija Cernetsova
Natalija Cernetsova’s wonderful etchings come to us all the way from her studio in Latvia, and though she has won awards all over the world, our gallery is one of the only places you will be able to see her work in this country. This is really an exhibit full of discovery and surprises.”
