About
Jeffrey Price was born in Cambridge, England in 1952. He was raised in New Haven, Connecticut, where his father, Derek de Solla Price, was the Avalon Professor of History of Science at Yale University. Jeffrey graduated from the University of Connecticut with an honors degree in Art History. For almost the next half-century he created and curated Artists’ Market, a fine art and framing gallery in Norwalk, Connecticut. The gallery became well-known as the only brick and mortar gallery featuring a permanent collection of the original graphic work of M. C. Escher. The Artists’ Market closed its Norwalk location in 2021 and now Jeffrey continues the traditions of Escher scholarship in a private studio in Stamford, Connecticut. Here Jeffrey continues to further his scholarship in M. C. Escher’s work as well as collecting and selling Escher’s original graphics and vintage bookplates.
